Friday Fashions: New Moon

Tonight is a New Moon and even more exciting, a Lunar Eclipse (6 months until the next Eclipse).  Although I don’t study the moon phases, I have started paying more attention to the cycles of the moon . . .  I’m kind of embarrassed to say it’s because of shelling.  Yes – I mean picking up shells on the beach.  :)  It has become a new hobby of mine (sometimes bordering on obsession) and I recently learned that a Full Moon and New Moon bring the best shells to shores.
In addition, as I spend more time trying to be lost in life and enjoy the world around me, I find myself taking time to look at the moon and stars every night while walking the dogs.  If you saw the moon tonight, it was absolutely beautiful!  It was huge & bright!  Plus, there were a few clouds passing in front of it throughout the evening making it look even more magical.
So, in honor of the New Moon and Lunar Eclipse I wanted to share some really cool jewelry I found on Etsy.
Gemagenta is a jewelry designer that offers these custom-made necklaces with designs of the moon for a particular night with the corresponding date engraved in the reverse side.  Not only is the necklace beautiful and original, it is a simple design that can be worn by men and women of all ages .  What a cool way to memorialize a special day and have a unique piece of jewelry!  I will definitely be ordering a few of these for gifts!
